The 1987 Ford Mustang GT is one of the most celebrated and definitive "Fox Body" Mustangs ever built. It marked a major mid-cycle refresh for the third-generation pony car, introducing the iconic, flush-fitting "Aero" styling and heavily upgrading the performance hardware.

Exterior Styling: Ford ditched the old four-headlight "four-eye" look for a smooth, grill-less front fascia, aerodynamic composite headlights, and integrated round fog lamps.

GT Ground Effects: The GT trim stood out dramatically from the base LX with an aggressive factory body kit, pronounced side skirts, a large rear spoiler, and distinctive "cheese grater" louvered taillights.

Engine Improvements: Thanks to the introduction of the freer-flowing "E7TE" cast-iron cylinder heads and a revised intake setup, factory horsepower leaped from 200 hp in 1986 to a potent 225 hp.

Updated Cabin: The interior received a massive overhaul, featuring a completely modernized dashboard, integrated console, tilt steering wheel, and high-bolstered sport seats with power lumbar supports.

Sunroof: The 1987 Ford Mustang GT came with an optional factory-installed flip-up sunroof (often called a moonroof). This manual sunroof panel is completely removable for an open-air driving experience.
